Abstract

Romania's accession to the European Union in 2007 has had beneficial effects in many respects, representing the main path to progress on many levels (economic, social, political, in terms of environmental conservation, etc.) and bringing the country closer to the standards of the most developed EU countries. Moreover, economic convergence and increased social cohesion at the European level are some of the EU's main stated objectives. The Convergence Programme is a fundamental instrument. We will analyze the impact of Romania's accession to the EU in terms of the level of economic development.
